HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!

It seems that every country has a day of celebration that serves to mark the identity of the people as a nation. Ours is the Fourth of July; Independence Day. Even though I find myself nearing my eightieth year and have sometimes been sadly dissapointed in the actions of my fellow citizens, I still experience a possessive thrill rising in my breast as I see 'Old Glory' waving proudly, and realize the great price paid and even now is being paid, by so many, that she might continue to fly.

But even as I revel in the fact that I am a part of the great 'Noble Experiment' called America, I realize that an even more precious liberty is also mine, John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

As I celebrate my liberty as an American, I also rejoice in the freedom that is mine through Jesus Christ. This is not a freedom TO sin but a freedom FROM sin. And it is mine, because it was made available to All peoples of All nations everywhere
Romans 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
