IT'S A FACT
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
John 18:38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Facts- Facts- FACTS! While the world searches frantically for facts, men are often disturbed as today's facts become tomorrow's fallacies. [The ‘food pyramid’ we had long been taught to accept as essential to our well being, has been turned on its head!] It is no wonder that the question is so often asked, "What IS truth?" Even the terrible sins of yesterday have become the accepted practices of today.
I. Truth in General - Facts are absolute and unchangeable.
A. Sin of yesterday will be sin tomorrow.
The transgression of God’s will is sin, whether it takes place in Eden, Sodom or a 21st century city.
1. Mans standards vary with his whims but Gods desires are constant. James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
B. All EXACT Science is based upon constant FACTS.
1. Math, chemistry, physics etc. are exact sciences. The formulas that worked 1000 yrs. ago still do.
2. Art, literature, language and grammar are not exact and change constantly. [This is why the study of the original languages is so important in Biblical research.}
3. When Theology deals with revealed truth [and not man’s conception of it] it is constant because He is constant.
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Therefore the Gospel is as fresh now as when first declared, and Bible Truths can not become outmoded.
II. Some of these constant Truths;
A. The Truth concerning Sin. Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
B. That Christ shed His blood to save sinners. Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Heb 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
Heb 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
Heb 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
C. The Truth that man must repent and believe, to be born again. Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
D. That there is NO OTHER plan of salvation. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
This plan has NEVER changed; Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
Rom 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
E.The Truths concerning the Lord’s Church is constant.
Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
F. Truths of moral right and wrong never change.
1. Though all the world may drink; Prov 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
2. Though all society goes virtually naked, we are told that it is an indication of insanity. Mark 5:15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
3. Though a rebellious society might condone, and even approve of adultery and fornication, the Word of God is emphatic on the subject; 1 Th 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
1 Th 4:4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
1 Th 4:5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
G. Heaven, hell and judgment to come are scriptural facts. Though all the world might doubt, ridicule and deny, the suffering, risen, ascended and returning Christ is a FACT UNCHANGEABLE!
Rom 3:3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
Rom 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
H. God’s demands upon you today are facts. Saying ‘NO’ to God will not alter them. You will someday give account to Him.
Job 14:14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
Job 14:15 Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
