THE BIBLE AND THE CREATOR

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Psa 14:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

There are four theories as to the origin of the material universe;

1. It is all an illusion!
2. It arose spontaneously out of nothing and created itself.
3. It had no beginning and has always existed.
4. It began in time as the work of a creator.

1. It is impossible that illusion could present science with orderly and consistent laws. This concept is accepted by only a few mystic philosophers and the christian scientest sect, which is neither Christian nor scientific.
2. If it created itself, we must attribute to matter, the power and intelligence of the creator. This is Pantheism.
3. The eternal existence of the universe, as advanced by the materialist, would attribute to matter, the self-existence they refuse to admit for God. This idea is proven false by the second law of thermodynamics. (entropy).
4. To deny the existence of God, one must do it by ‘belief’ and not by evidence. The belief that our orderly universe came into being by accident, requires a much greater faith in miracles, than to accept the fact that an intelligent creator called it into being.

I. What God says about it. Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

A. It was done suddenly. Psa 33:9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

B. It was done perfectly. Isa 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

C. It was done through the person of Jesus Christ.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
D. It was made from matter that did not previously exist.
Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Rom 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

E. It exhibits His Deity Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Isa 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
Isa 40:27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
Isa 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

F. It manifests His glory.
Psa 19:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork.

G. It illustrates His wisdom.
Psa 104:24 O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
Psa 136:5 To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.

H. It was made for His pleasure.
Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

I. All creation praises Him.
Psa 145:10 All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.
Psa 148:5 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created.

J. It all groans now under the burden of man’s sin.
Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

II. It is vital that we recognize Him as the creator in order that we see our duty to Him.
Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
